Now Announcing Women in Focus: The 19th in 2020

This August 26, 2020, will mark the hundredth anniversary of the ratification of the Nineteenth Amendment. And starting with our January issue—live now!—Booklist will be dedicating the entire year (including all 22 print issues and four major conferences) to not only honor this historic moment in the ongoing fight for women’s rights, but to amplify and celebrate the voices of all women, especially those who have historically been silenced.

Dubbed Women in Focus, the promotion will reexamine the events of the past century, advocate for and educate the electorate about voting rights, showcase current events, and turn a keen—and hopeful—eye to the future. What spectacular content might you see throughout the year? We’re glad you asked . . .

  • Women in Focus-related reviews, articles, interviews, and more, tied to each issue spotlight, from sf/fantasy & horror to middle grade, offering the most extensive coverage across genres and age groups
  • Guest essays and Q and As from beloved authors
  • A free female-focused webinar on June 9, 2020 (registration info to come!)
  • A special (and sure to be powerful) panel at ALA Annual in Chicago
