Booklist Celebrates Middle-Grade Mania

Today’s the day. For the first time in Booklist history, our already robust annual Spotlight on Middle-Grade Reading will coincide with an entire month of downright maniacal levels of middle-grade coverage.

If you follow us on social media, you know we’ve already unveiled 25 of the 50 Best Middle-Grade Novels of the Twenty-First Century—and will be announcing 25 more in the coming weeks. But what else do we have in store for you, you ask? Behold!:

  • Special middle-grade-focused issues of both Booklist and Book Links
  • Complimentary 18 x 24 posters (one per Booklist issue) displaying the 50 Best Middle-Grade Novels of the Twenty-First Century
  • Free downloads of readers’-advisory paper fortune tellers (or cootie catchers, if you will) for four genres: contemporary, historical fiction, mystery, and sf/fantasy. Librarians and kids will want to fold, flip, and find their next favorite middle-grade read!
  • Bonus distribution of all of the above at TLA in Austin
  • Two free middle-grade-themed webinars: one on Tuesday, April 9 (register here!), and one on Wednesday, April 25 (registration info to come!)
  • Amplified middle-grade coverage in Booklist‘s Booklandia, Read Alert, and Quick Tips newsletters (subscribe here!)
  • Two sure-to-be mind-blowing middle-grade panels at ALA Annual
  • The chance to win one of 10 boxes of marvelous middle-grade titles from our sponsors (listed below)
  • An exciting takeover of the American Library Association’s Instagram, which will soon be home to #MyMiddleGradeMania, a collection of middle-grade-era photos of Booklisters and authors
  • So much more!

All of this is generously sponsored by Abrams, Bloomsbury Children’s Books, Charlesbridge, Disney Book Group, Holiday House, Houghton Mifflin Harcourt,  Macmillan Children’s Group, Penguin Young Readers, Random House Children’s Books, and Simon & Schuster Children’s Publishing. And we need YOU to be a part of it, too.

For the latest in the magnificent world Booklist middle-grade coverage, be sure to check the #MiddleGradeMania hashtag on Twitter and Facebook.

#MiddleGradeManiacs, unite!
