Sisters in Crime Opens 2019 Eleanor Taylor Bland Award Submissions

Sisters in Crime (SinC) has opened the submissions review process for the 2019 Eleanor Taylor Bland Award. The award, named after the late trailblazing crime fiction author, has celebrated excellence and diversity in crime writing since 2014. Past winners include Mia Manansala (2018), Jessica Ellis Laine (2017), Stephane Dunn (2016), Vera H-C Chan (2015), and Maria Kelson (2014). The winning writer will receive a $2,000 grant. Candidates must apply by June 9, 2019. The winner will be announced July 1, 2019. Complete guidelines and application materials can be found at sistersincrime.org/etb.

Michael Ruzicka, Office Manager, was raised in suburban Los Angeles, received a BA in Creative Writing/Poetry at UC Santa Cruz, then moved to Birmingham, AL, where he spent five years owning an independent bookstore and earned an MLIS. He has brought his librarian skills to Vanderbilt’s Television News Archive, Battle Ground Academy, The Museum of Contemporary Art-Chicago, and the Chicago School of Professional Psychology.
