YA Cover Trend Alert: Scratch That
Cindy and Lynn: We were fortunate to be in the Seattle audience for the 2019 Youth Media Awards announcements, and as usual, there were surprises. Some of our favorite books won different awards than we predicted, and some were shut out entirely. Other books that hadn’t been on our radar now have us scrambling to place holds at our libraries or add to our Goodreads lists or Cindy’s school orders. If you were left scratching out titles on your award prediction lists and adding others, you might be up for reading one of these recent YA novels that feature lots of scratching and scribbling, too. Go, ahead, scratch away or scribble big, black, angry balls on your lists. It might make you feel better.
