Black Friday Deals & a Doorbuster Book Display!

Cindy: IMHO the best deal over the Thanksgiving weekend is having a good book to read! I saw a Pinterest post with an 8 1/2 x 11″ sign advertising a “Black Friday Deals All Week Long” display of books with black covers. It made me laugh. I have two 8-foot long bulletin boards in one of my middle schools, though, so I decided to expand the idea to a mall-sized display.

We added some slogans that riffed on those we found online after searching for Black Friday promotions. It was easy to find the black covers, which is good because the books are flying out of the library as fast as InstaPots and special Lego sets will leave stores at 4 a.m. come Friday. My advice? Grab a good book, curl up on the couch, and avoid the crowds at the stores. Hunker down and read—and if you must buy presents, wait until the holiday passes and shop locally. (Your independent bookstore is a great place to start!) We at Bookends are grateful for authors, publishers, and readers. Happy Thanksgiving!
