Book Trailer Thursday: I AM ENOUGH

Though you may know her from her role on Fox’s music drama Empire, Grace Byers’ (née Gealey) debut children’s book takes a step back from the bright lights of Hollywood and heads toward a softer glow of acceptance, self-worth, and love.

I Am Enough (HarperKids) is a wonderfully poetic journey, illuminating the sense of value that young women often lose when contemplating their color, stature, and beauty. Girls will parade through each page, confident and strong, comforting each other in times of need and celebrating their differences with care and assurance. As Amina Chaudhri writes in her review, “this book insists girls are different from one another in many ways, and in that, rather than in conformity, lies their strength and beauty.”

It is not only a story for mothers and daughters, but a tale that everyone, young and old, should be reading come March. Every feature, every word, will raise girls up high in I Am Enough.
