2018 Edgar Nominees Announced

Earlier this morning, the Mystery Writers of America announced the nominees for the 2018 Edgar Allan Poe Awards. Booklist was all over this year’s Edgar finalists. We interviewed Young Adult nominee Jayson Reynolds and Best Fact Crime nominee David Grann—also a finalist for this year’s Andrew Carnegie Medal for Excellence in Nonfiction. Best First Novel finalist Jordan Harper shared the influences behind She Rides Shotgun during Mystery Month. We hosted a signing with Angie Thomas at ALA Annual. And our Executive Editor Keir Graff’s contribution to Akashic’s fabulous noir series, Montana Noir, scored a nomination for Eric Heidle’s “Ace in the Hole.”

Congrats to all the finalists! Here’s the complete list, linked to their Booklist reviews when available. For more information about the awards ceremony on April 26, visit the Edgars website.
