Get Ready for BOOKLIST at Midwinter

If you’ll be attending ALA’s Midwinter Meeting in Atlanta this year, be sure to visit Booklist! We’ll be in booth #1925.

Join us as we kick off our 50 Years of YA celebration with cake! Stop by the Booklist booth on Friday, January 20th at 5:30pm to help kick off #50YearsofYA with a slice of delicious sheet cake. We’ll continue the celebration all conference long with some great giveaways: #50YearsofYA ribbon badges! #50YearsofYA temporary tattoos! And an exclusive poster, in limited quantities and courtesy of Penguin Young Readers Group, celebrating the 50th anniversary of The Outsiders! Submit a love letter to your favorite YA author or novel (see this link for a preview and get the skinny at our booth) for the chance to be featured in print and online, as well as a chance to win a subscription to Booklist.

We’ll also hand out information about the Andrew Carnegie Medals for Excellence in Fiction & Nonfiction, the winners of which will be announced on Sunday at the RUSA Book and Media Awards (details below). Stop by our booth for free bookmarks, handouts, and tiny chocolate versions of each of the six books on the Carnegie shortlist. (Seriously, they’re so cute, you’ll die.) Also, be sure to visit RUSA at their booth to get more tiny chocolate books while you’re at it. (And be sure to participate in the Carnegie Medal #ShareTheStory campaign and book giveaway. Click here for details.)

As if there wasn’t enough going on in booth #1925, we’ll be handing out Booklist buttons and offering a special, discounted rate on Booklist subscriptions.

In addition to the Andrew Carnegie Medals announcement at the RUSA Book and Media Awards, our editors will be involved in events taking place throughout the conference—a complete schedule is below. See you soon!
