Book Trailer Thursday: The Party

The book trailer for Robyn Harding’s new domestic drama The Party (Simon & Schuster/Scout) gives tantalizing glimpses into the crisis that arises when Hannah Sanders’ sweet-sixteenth goes sour. A tragic turn to the party at the Sanders’ house will reveal the secrets behind the wealthy family’s superficial perfection—no matter how badly Hannah’s mother wants to pretend otherwise. As the ugly truths come to light in a well-off San Francisco suburb, readers find that no one in this story is as sweet as they may seem.

Kathy Sexton says in her Booklist review that The Party features “teenagers worthy of Mean Girls, and a healthy dose of suspense,” a recipe for a hot summer read for older teens and adults alike.
