Slurping Down Some Summer Reads

Cindy: I just wrapped up a school year that saw the launch of 1,700 Chromebooks 1:1 in my two middle schools, and ended with preparing for major summer construction in one of my libraries by packing up or purging 26 years of accumulated work room, AV, and office “crap.” Let’s just say that I’m ready to kick up my feet with some good summer reading and something refreshing to drink. Here are a few teen novels to quench your thirst:

Get It Together, Delilah, by Erin Gough

Kale, My Ex, and Other Things to Toss in a Blender, by Lisa Greenwald

When Dimple Met Rishi, by Sandhya Menon

Public librarians in the thick of summer reading programs, I know you are working like dogs. There’s a book for you, too. Even dogs are carrying beverages this season:

Raymond, by Yann & Gwendal Le Bec

Learn from Raymond, and take time for your family and yourself—and thanks for all you do to keep kids reading all summer long!
