This Week on Well Read TV: George Saunders Talks about LINCOLN IN THE BARDO

This week on Well Read, award-winning author George Saunders will be speaking with hosts Elisa Jaffe and Mary Anne Gwinn about his best-selling novel, Lincoln in the Bardo, released February 14. Acclaimed for his wealth of innovative short story collections (including Tenth of December, 2013), Saunders’ latest, a surreal exploration of Abraham Lincoln’s late-night visits to his son Willie’s crypt, is not only a “boldly imagined, exquisitely sensitive, sharply funny, and utterly unnerving historical and metaphysical drama,”—but also Saunders’ first novel. In the video clip above, Saunders divulges two pieces of advice that set his latest literary feat into motion.

To watch his full conversation with Jaffe and Gwinn, check your public television affiliate’s schedule and World Channel beginning this Friday, April 14.
