Booklist Readers: Chris Simon

Chris Simon, our resident Production Editor/Graphic Designer, joined Booklist in 2015. He helps lay out the magazine and designs art and graphics for our print and online products.

What do you do when you’re not at Booklist?

Most of my time is spent looking around for cool rocks, reading about space on the internet, cooking, thinking about space, giving attention to the cat on demand, reorganizing my rocks— is a website I made to help myself never answer this question.

What are you an expert on?

I don’t think I’m an expert on anything, but I also don’t think I would enjoy the things I enjoy if I were an expert on them.

Chris sits like this all the time.

Chris sits like this all the time.

What’s your least-favorite thing to do?

When I was maybe five years old, I was expected to stand with my peers and sing a Christmas song while wearing a beard and hat made of cotton balls and paper. I did not sing the song, and I turned to face away from the audience. This was my least favorite thing to do.

Who’s your favorite reader?

Those kids from cartoon or movie classrooms who are secretly reading something else concealed in a textbook. . . ? You know.

What do you wish someone would write a book about, fiction or nonfiction?

No more books, please. There are too many books on my list. I’m good on books, for now.
