We had a lot of fun. We saw a lot of spooky book displays. But now the people have chosen their winners. The prizes we’ll be giving out today are a subscription to Booklist, a box of spooky adult books, and a box of spooky young readers books, to the top-voted submissions. If you missed it this time, no worries. Look out for other fun contest in the future—we love creative competitions.
See our winners and a slideshow of all our submissions below.
“Trick or Treat” at Homewood-Flossmoor High School Library, submitted by Alicia Rodriguez, won with 136 votes! To see it in action, press play. Spooktastic!
“Treat Yourself to a Scare” at Magee Public Library, submitted by Frances Meadows, came in second with 43 votes!
“Frightening Good Reads,” at Gautier Public Library, submitted by Angel Hester, came in third with 28 votes!
Hester says: “This is an adult book display with both fiction and nonfiction books of the horror, thriller, and occult variety. Ornaments with LED lights, plastic spiders and rats, and a few skeletal pieces attract the curious into checking the books out, with generous circulation success!”
