Book Trailer Thursday: Born to Run

On Tuesday, rock legend Bruce Springsteen released his autobiography, Born to Run (Simon & Schuster), which June Sawyer lauds in her starred Booklist review: “Through the magic of his songs, and now the wizardry of his prose, Springsteen has healed many a heart by reimagining moments from his own life.”

In the video above, Springsteen describes the origins of his book. He wrote periodically for seven years, experimenting with voice, before revising his manuscript, a step he says is, “very similar to the songwriting process.” As he speaks, his titular song plays in the background. We watch videos, old and new, of him goofing off with band members, rehearsing in studios, and performing on stage. Don’t miss the Boss’s latest masterpiece. Run out and get your copy today!
