Gene Luen Yang Named 5th National Ambassador for Young People’s Literature

Every two years the Children’s Book Council selects an author to be the National Ambassador for literature for young people. Yang is a two-time National Book Award finalist, a Printz Award winner (American Born Chinese, 2006), and made Booklist‘s Top of the List in 2013. As the National Ambassador, Yang will travel the country speaking with parents, teachers, and librarians about how to better foster love of reading. Yang is the first graphic novelist to be selected for this honor.
