The Tiara on the Terrace (Harper), the latest middle-grade mystery from Kristen Kittscher, has sleuths Sophie and Grace on the hunt for another murderer (this time “by marshmallow”). The trailer lets us in on a planning meeting for the book’s promotion.
As a young-ish marketing professional, I can’t help but feel this parody is . . . shockingly accurate. We wear the glasses and flannel, we obsess over office treats, we use skywriting whenever possible. As they say, we can’t truly know ourselves until we see kids acting like us in a book trailer—or something like that.
