Criminal Record:

One day at a writer’s conference, Bob—husband and co-founder of Oceanview Publishing—announced, “I want to start a publishing company.” I had just completed my first novel Shadow of Death and had been attending writer-craft panels and he had gone to the business-of-publishing sessions. He’d listened to writers trying to get an agent and/or a publisher and published authors unhappy with their status. “I think I can help three or four authors do better,” he said. That was the beginning of the havoc. What Bob did not realize after he “helped” three or four authors is that, like children, authors don’t go away; they keep coming back with more and more titles. And more and more authors join the family.

Now the Oceanview family has grown to 60 authors with 110 titles—21 listed as best-sellers, including a New York Times best-seller—and multiple prestigious awards. Books are launched in most cases in hard cover and are available on all e-readers. Many are also in audio and there are several movie deals in progress.

Oceanview titles are all in the Mystery/Suspense/Thriller genre—with a couple of exceptions. One being International Thriller Writers’ Thrillers: 100 Must-Reads, a collection of essays written by today’s top thriller-writers about the best thriller writers in history, edited by David Morell and Hank Wagner. Oceanview is an International Thriller Writers and Mystery Writers of America recognized publisher. The other exception is a nonfiction book that Bob and I wrote about which tells how Oceanview got started: What’s Next…For You?

Our submission guidelines are on our website: agented authors, authors with a track record with a traditional publisher, or authors whom we have met at writer events or who come recommended by our staff or Oceanview authors.

It would seem that sometimes the naïve approach turns out well.

All Oceanview titles are distributed by Midpoint Trade Books, and are available in the various formats through Ingram, Baker & Taylor, OverDrive, Bookazine
