Listen Up Librarians: Over $600 Worth of Free Audiobooks!

AudiobookerStarting on May 7, audiobook program SYNC will give away two complete audiobook downloads every week through August 13—a current young adult title along with a thematically-paired classic. Your own library of more than $600 worth of audiobook titles, in MP3 format compatible with any digital player or computer, and the choices are top titles from the best audiobook producers—how much better could it get?!?

A terrific way to introduce new users
to your library’s digital resources.

There’s even a great toolkit of materials to promote the audiobook program that includes posters for your classroom; banners for your library website; sound clips to post or email to your library discussion groups and friends; bookmarks to include in displays; and listen-alike lists to entice new listeners to take advantage of your library’s audiobook collection. And, as the downloads are handled through OverDrive, it’s a terrific way to introduce new users to your library’s digital resources.

During the summer of 2014, SYNC gave away more than 139,000 downloads. The program is starting earlier this year to help teachers and school librarians get their students in the habit of taking advantage of SYNC before they head out for summer break, and to allow public librarians time to integrate SYNC into their Summer Reading Program.

SYNCHEAD-150x150What a great way to experience classics on your summer reading list, discover great YA literature, or download perfect family listening for a wide spectrum of ages—all while building a collection of audiobooks that are yours for FREE forever!
