It’s everyone’s favorite time of year: the holidays! When crazed shoppers elbow for the last wildly popular toy and when family members feel it appropriate to make unreasonable demands on your travel budget and vacation days, and—best of all—when you get to spend your hard-earned money and even more of your time on presents for friends, family, and co-workers. (And don’t forget Grandma’s hairless Chihuahua, Noodles!)
Fear not! This week, Book Trailer Thursday comes to the rescue with a video replete with gift-giving suggestions from Caitlin Doughty, author of Smoke Gets in Your Eyes and Other Lessons from the Crematory (Norton). This is not *technically* a book trailer, but it is one of dozens of videos on Doughty’s Ask A Mortician channel, which deals with many of the death-centric issues she dives into her aforementioned, starred review book.
And on the off chance you don’t find an Operation™-like guinea pig a suitable present, keep your eyes on the Booklist Reader for next week’s post on the books we Booklisters will be gifting for the holiday season. (Hint: Smoke Gets in Your Eyes will very likely be making an appearance.)
