Giving Book Reviewers Their Due: RUSA Seeks Nominees for Louis Shores Award

RUSAThe Reference and User Services Association (RUSA), a division of the American Library Association, is seeking nominees for the Louis Shores Award, which recognizes an individual reviewer, editor, group, or review medium for excellence in book reviewing. The press release, with information about submitting nominees, follows.

Recognize Excellence in Reviewing with RUSA’s Louis Shores Award

Library collections depend on the guidance of good reviewers. Reviewers, review editors, and bloggers help librarians to make wise purchasing decisions and help us to guide our patrons to the best resources. RUSA’s Louis Shores Award recognizes excellence in reviewing for libraries. The Louis Shores Award is awarded annually to an outstanding individual reviewer, group, editor, review medium, or organization.

To nominate a reviewer or review medium for the award complete a nomination form and follow the submission guidelines: deadline for 2015 submissions is December 14th, 2014.

The winner of the 2015 Louis Shores Award will be honored with a citation at the RUSA Awards Reception at ALA Annual in San Francisco.
