2014 National Book Award Longlist for Fiction

This morning, the National Book Award foundation announced the longlist for the 2014 National Book Award for Fiction. The list is an interesting mix of novels and short story collections mostly authored by highly recognized veteran authors, but two impressive newcomers, Molly Antopol and Phil Klay, are included as well. The shortlist will be revealed on the October 15th episode of NPR’s Morning Edition, and the winners will be revealed on November 19th at the National Book Awards Ceremony and Benefit Dinner.
