Audiobook narrators take the stage at the American Library Association Chicago conference this weekend. The Pop Top Stage in the McCormick Place Exhibit Hall will feature all things audio on Saturday, June 29, thanks to the support of the Audio Publishers Association during June is Audiobook Month. Here’s the line up, in day two of my round-up of ALA audio programing

2:00 – 2:25pm Tantor Audio features narrator Angela Dawe, highlighting her reading of NYT bestselling author Nalini Singh’s Psy/Changeling paranormal romance series.

2:30 – 2:55pm AudioGO hosts narrator Adam Verner with AudioGO’s Michele Cobb for an audience Q&A session,  plus readings from “Ask Bob,” the soon-to-be-released title by Peter Gethers.

3:00 – 3:25pm Audible brings recording artist Janis Ian (“Society’s Child” and “At 17”) and winner of 2013  “Best Spoken Word Album” Grammy for her memoir Society’s Child to the stage to discuss her experience narrating her own work.

3:30 – 3:55pm Tantor Audio presents the author’s point of view with NYT bestselling author Julie James reflecting on her relationship with narrator Karen White, the voice of James’ steamy FBI/US Attorney romance series.

4:00 – 4:25pm MacMillan Audio sponsors narrator Katy Kellgren’s Pop Top appearance, where the multiple award-winning artist will focus on her most recent narrations, including Odyssey Honor title Monstrous Beauty.

And don’t forget that there plenty of other audiobook awesomeness at ALA – including the FREE Odyssey Award Celebration, more narrator interviews, open sessions to observe audiobook evaluation by librarians, and other sessions featuring Kellgren & Ian.  Click here for the link with more audio events to add to your schedule. See you there!
