Listening to Christmas

Love Louise Penny’s The Beautiful Mystery? Read about real-life cloistered nuns whose CD release story echoes that of Penny’s most recent Three Pines mystery series novel. I’m a huge fan of Penny and Ralph Cosham, the narrator of the series’ audiobooks – essential listening for every audio fan. I couldn’t help but connect Penny’s beautifully-plotted musical mystery with the story by Ken Gordon in my hometown paper, the Columbus Dispatch, about Music Director & Prioress Mother Cecilia Snell. Snell gave up her life as a french horn player in the Columbus Symphony to a life of service with the Benedictines of Mary, resulting in a CD that has hit #1 on Bilboard’s classical chart. Read the complete story here: Ex-Symphony Player Making Joyful Noice Unto the Lord, and listen to a clip here. And don’t forget to grab last Friday’s Christmas Freebie downloads here. Happiest of holidays – wherever you are, whatever you celebrate–may it all be peaceful and bright!
