Hot Stuff

Red-hot romances read aloud? Fifty Shades of Grey and other steamy audiobooks are the focus of my current “Hot Topics” column in Booklist.  I interviewed Amanda D’Acierno, vice president and publisher, Random House Audio;  Kaite Mediatore Stover, director of Readers’ Services at Kansas City (MO) Public Library and Booklist reviewer and columnist; and  Teri Lesesne, professor at Sam Houston State University and chair of the 2013 Odyssey Award for Excellence in Audiobook Production Committee about the pleasure & pain of producing audiobooks, library listeners’-advisory services, and preparing for audio challenges. Great insights from three audiobook experts!

And if you’d like more hot stuff, be sure to enter to win And When She was Good by Laura Lippman, narrated Linda Emond or grab the FREE download of The Rainbow by D.H. Laurence, narrated by Wanda McCaddon- an early of Downton Abbey meets Fifty Shades of Grey. Get more details about these two Freebie Friday goodies & leave a comment on this Audiobooker post by THIS FRIDAY September 28th to win!
