And the winner is . . . you! (maybe)
This week, the Will & Ann Eisner Family Foundation announced the formation of the Will Eisner Graphic Novel Prize for Libraries. Here’s a link to a PDF of the full press release, but for those on the go here’s the essential deets:
The prize is a bundle of goodies, including a collection of all the books nominated for the 2012 Eisner Awards (sweeeeeeeet), all of Eisner’s books (that means plenty of Spirit comics, A Contract with God, the three how-to cartooning books he put out, and loads of other amazing books by the best cartoonist in the history of ever), $2,000 to buy MORE graphic novels of your choice, and a $1,000 stipend to hold a comics-related event at your library.
Amazing, right? It’s like injecting a dose of pure CGH (Comics Growth Hormone) right into your library’s keister.
If you’re attending ALA in Anaheim, drop by the Reading with Pictures/Eisner Family Foundation booth (#788) and register to win. Oh, and there’s THREE winners, so your odds of winning just shot up by some amount. A factor of three? Sounds about right, but what am I, a math guy?
