Male vs. Female narrators

Drag Queen Heroine or Effeminate Hero? How do you rate an audiobook narrator’s ability to portray the opposite gender? The All About Romance blog often features topics of interest to audiobook listeners in their “Speaking of Audiobooks” column, such as Lea Hensley’s recent post on male vs. female narrators where five All About Romance reviewers chime in on their favorite voices. Great recommendations of top romance readers who also excel at any genre.

Romance is one of the hottest audiobook genres, with passionate fans who adore their favorite narrators. Be sure to check out the just-released list of finalists for the 2012 Romance Writers of America RITAand Golden Heart®Awards for titles that will satisfy any audiobook listener. The 2012 RITA honors romance fiction published in 2011. More than 1,200 novels and novellas were judged in 12 categories. The 2012 Golden Heart Award honors unpublished romance manuscripts in 2011 – titles that will hopefully find just the right voice in the coming year.
