Top 5 program revisited at PLA 2012

At the Public Library Association Conference in 2010, I put together a readers’ advisory panel session called “The Top 5 of the Top 5”.  It was such a success and so much fun that we’re bringing Volume 2 to this year’s conference!

Come join us – I’m very fortunate to be presenting with Roberta Johnson, Kaite Mediatore Stover, Barry Trott, and David Wright.   Stop by and say hello, won’t you?

Books and Authors: The Top 5 of Another 5
Thursday, March 15, 2012     8:15 AM – 9:30 AM
Venue: Pennsylvania Convention Center, Room: 119-A-B

Floundering at the desk when someone asks you for a book or author you haven’t read? Would you like a “go-to” list for books or authors you might not be familiar with? In this continuation of 2010’s hot “Top 5” program, RA experts will showcase another 5 top genres (Romance, Sci Fic, Suspense/Thrillers, Literary, Historical) and what every librarian should be familiar with about them: the top 5 authors, books, up-and-comers, and trends.

Pardon me, but there is no link here for the 2012 handouts, though there is one for the 2010 ones.

  2. Rebecca says:

Hi Aurora – the link is on the blog post for the day of the program, http://shelfrenewal.booklistonline.com/2012/03/14/pla-2012-top-5-handouts/. Click on the words “Top 5 of Another 5 2012 Handout” – and that will open up a PDF, which you can print. That’s the 2012 handouts, the 2010 ones are back on the old Shelfrenewal site. Thanks!
