More SUPER ALA Conference Adventures

Cindy: It’s not every day as a librarian that you get to feel like a superhero! I can’t believe we forgot to include our caped adventure at the Scholastic celebration for Dav Pilkey and the forthcoming publication of Super Diaper Baby 2: The Invasion of the Potty Snatchers in our previous conference post. This photo really doesn’t do justice to seeing a whole room of librarians and book industry folks dressed out in red capes, but you get the idea. This one DOES catch Senior Editor and author David Levithan in full regalia… We are busy sorting and reading all the new galleys we picked up at the exhibits and will be back to posting book reviews next week…

Lynn:  This WAS quite a sight and just proves what lengths librarians are willing to go to for books and authors.  These capes are having an extended life however.  I gathered up three capes, schlepped them home and delighted the focus group.  Red-caped super heroes have been flying around our house since then.  It helps that they think Super Diaper Baby is extremely funny.
