Gaiman fans, enter NOW!

Win a part in American Gods & get coached by NEIL HIMSELF. Enter Harper Audio’s contest via this website and keep your fingers crossed. The winner will be flown and hosted in NYC where the tenth-anniversary audiobook recording of American Gods will take place. You’ll have a credited speaking role, plus audiobook narrator (and author) extraordinaire Neil Gaiman will personally coach your narration. The special edition audiobook will include an introduction written and read by the author, and feature his preferred text (an additional 12,000 words throughout) in the June release.  American Gods: 10th Anniversary Edition cast members include Fred Berman, Anne Bobby, Dennis Boutsikaris, Tim Cain, Richard Ferrone, Adam Grupper, Sarah Jones, Pete Larkin, Kathleen McInerney, Ron McLarty, Prentice Onayemi, Daniel Oreskes, Paula Parker, Maggi-Meg Reed, Yelena Shmulenson, Alan Winter, and Oliver Wyman.

Gaiman says, “I love audio books, and George Guidall’s reading of American Gods was a gold standard of its kind – such that I couldn’t imagine getting someone else in to read the whole book in the new edition. But I’d never had a full-cast audio version of one of my books, and the opportunity to get a dozen amazing actors into a studio (and to take part myself) just seemed too good to be true. I’m really looking forward to it.

I’ve always tried to do things that would include people. There are 1.5 million people following me on Twitter, nearly half a million on Facebook, and lord alone knows how many reading my blog. So when HarperAudio offered them the chance to get involved I was thrilled. I love the idea that one of those people will be on the audio recording.”

I think my contest entry was the first submitted. But I’ll be a good sport and wish you good luck, too!

  1.' Samuel Bennett says:

I have followed Gaiman’s work since my early career as a public librarian, and continue to read everything I can find, particularly when it’s on audiobook. The Graveyard Book is a masterpiece in children’s literature and I expect it to be one of the first things I read to my grandchildren. I have both a face and a voice for radio and I would love to be involved with American Gods.
