Tweets for Book Clubs

There are plenty of ways to keep up with what’s happening in book clubs using social media tools (this blog being one of them 🙂 ).

I wanted to share just a few of the Twitter feeds I follow that tweet what other book groups are doing to get conversation started or forthcoming books that will be good for discussion or book groups with a special focus.

Rainy Day books tweets from one of the strongest independent booksellers in the Midwest. Rainy Day has a strong belief in hand-selling quality titles and the entire staff is devoted to reading what they talk about. The Jennings family are all very good at spotting the next big title from publishers big and small.

I like the Hipster Book Club for their current reviews, lists, author interviews and eclectic mix of titles. They “strive to find a balance between readers who read analytically and those who read for pure pleasure.” All the contributors are passionate about books and reading and they discuss old and new titles.

There’s always intriguing tweets from Europa Editions. I’m a big fan of the folks who brought us A Novel Bookstore, The Elegance of the Hedgehog, and Broken Glass Park. All of those have been book group favorites and the Europa twitter feed is the best way to keep on top of the next best translated novel.

There are many more great “twits” tweeting about books, reading, and book clubs. I’ll write up a few more in March.
