ALA in DC?

Mingle with the best in audiobook narration & production at the FREE Odyssey Award reception Monday June 28th from 4:00pm – 5:30pm, in the Washington Convention Center room 145B. Join the celebration at ALA Annual in DC which will include the presentation of the gold medal to Odyssey winner Louise, the Adventures of a Chicken. If you’d like to learn more about the creation of Louise, read my “Voices in My Head” column Odyssey 2010 http://bit.ly/aSxcRA that features an interview with author Kate DiCamillo, illustrator Harry Bliss, narrator Barbara Rosenblat, and producer Live Oak Media’s Debra & Arnie Cardillo. Talk about a dream team!

The Odyssey Award,  given to the producer of the best audiobook produced for children and/or young adults available in English in the United States, is jointly administered by the American Library Association’s youth divisions ALSC & YALSA and Booklist magazine. This year’s celebration will also include presentation of Odyssey Honors to Listen & Live Audio’s In the Belly of the Bloodhound and Brilliance Audio’s Peace, Locomotion and We Are the Ship. Audiobook fans will be thrilled to hear three superstar narrators as Dion Graham, Katherine Kellgren, and Barbara Rosenblat speak about their craft. To top things off, there’s a reception with refreshments hosted by the Audio Publishers Association.

There’s no ticket needed for this FREE and fabulous event that is sure to be a standing-room only crowd. Hope to see you there!
