See & hear authors & narrators celebrate all things audiobooks as they kick off  “June is Audiobook Month” at Book Expo America in NYC. Here are the details…

Day One: Wednesday, May 26 (3 segments, 30 minute increments)

Performance #1: Nelson DeMille & Scott Brick – 10:00 AM Author Nelson DeMille has often commented that he writes with narrator Scott Brick’s voice in mind. Their presentation will be a discussion on the interactions between author and
narrator in the audiobook recording process (Hachette).

Performance #2: Jennifer Egan –12:00 PM Author  Jennifer Egan‘s writing has been described as brilliant,
sly, suspenseful, and always surprising. She’ll discuss her experiences with audio and what it’s like to work with different narrators to bring a story to life (BBC Audiobooks America).

Performance #3: Galaxy Press Radio Drama Group –2:00 PM The ensemble cast of Martin Kove, Bo Hopkins, Lee DeBroux, Josh Thompson, & Jesse Kove will perform The Reign of the Gila Monster, a comedic western recorded as an audiobook by Galaxy Press, and written by L. Ron Hubbard during the heyday of pulp fiction.

Day Two: Thursday, May 27 (3 segments, 30 minute increments)

Performance #1: Katherine Kellgren – 10:00 AM Narrator Katherine Kellgren‘s live performances bringing author L.A. Meyer’s Bloody Jack young adult series to life are entertaining and memorable (Listen & Live Audio).

Performance #2: David Pogue – 12:00 PM David Pogue is known as a New York Times technology columnist, CBS correspondent and author technology-oriented manuals, but now has written and narrated a children’s book called Abby Carnelia’s One and Only Magical Power (Brilliance Audio).

Performance #3: Everette Plen and Lenore Look – 2:00PM Twelve-year-old narrator Everette Plen and author Lenore Look will discuss their experiences writing & recording the Alvin Ho books series (Random House).
