Picture Book Preconference – Join Us!

Lynn and Cindy: We always love attending the ALA conference but this year we are totally geeked! We are signed up for an ALSC Preconference that sounds terrific. Do you love picture books? Look at this:

Drawn to Delight: How Picture Books Work (and Play) Today.

Learn to look below the surface. Explore technique and design with art directors, museum educators and award-winning illustrators Brian Selznik, Jerry Pinkney, Laura Vaccaro Seeger, Javaka Steptoe, David Small, Yuyi Morales, Timothy Basil Ering, Kadir Nelson AND MORE. Discover the innovative “whole book” storytime model developed by Megan Lambert, Instructor of Children’s Literature at Simmons College to help children develop meaning from everything picture books offer. Studio demonstrations, hands-on opportunities, and original art door prizes will be in the mix. The Preconference will be held at the Corcoran Gallery of Art on Friday, June 25th from 8:00 am to 6:30 in Washington, D.C.

Information and registration available at the ALSC website. Come join us!
