Pillars of the Earth on TV

41j9413b4wl__sl160_Spurred on by terrific reviews, my fascination with the Middle Ages, and the fact that it was an Oprah Book Club pick, I bought a copy of  Ken Follett’s Pillars of the Earth more than a year ago and never managed to finish it.  Now I don’t have to–it’s been made into an eight-hour television series that will air on the STARZ network this summer. Ian McShane, Rufus Sewell, Donald Sutherland, Matthew Macfadyen, and Hayley Atwell are among the cast, and I’m already starting to picture who will play which character. If Pillars of the Earth was ever one of your book group’s picks, be sure to let them know about the miniseries.  And if you want to read the book before the series airs, you’d better start reading now–it’s almost 1,000 pages long.
