Read Alert: Sneak Peak at Booklist’s Top of the List

2009’s best audiobooks, videos, reference, fiction, and non-fiction, as selected by Booklist Magazine’s editors, are available in the Dec 10th Special Edition of Read Alert, BooklistOnline’s free email newsletter. You’ll get the full list with annotations in Booklist’s January issue.  I was thrilled to see an audiobook that I’ve already rhapsodised about named Top of the List for audiobooks: Marcelo in the Real World. Published as a YA title, Marcelo is a cross-over title that will tug at the heart of any adult listener. When I gave this audiobook to my husband to listen to on a car trip, he fell so deeply into the book that he sat in the car every spare moment during his beach vacation, mesmerized by Marcelo’s world. So fair warning – once you start this one, have that portable player near by. You won’t stop listening until the final word of this production that truly deserves its place as the peak of the 2009 audiobook mountain – sneak a listen here:
