An Appreciated Book Blog

Did you know that this is Book Blogger Appreciation Week? Neither did I, but when I found out I was prompted to pay an overdue visit to Book Club Girl, one of the nominees for Best Book Club Blog. Book Club Girl works in publishing, so she knows books, but she “vows to talk about books from all over and not to simply flog those from her own house.”

This is a fun resource for book groups, full of  news items and tips. And giveaways. During the summer, readers were invited to share stories about having an author visit their group, and from those who sent comments, one person was randomly chosen to win The Book Club Girl Tote of Books containing four “great hardcover summer reads”: Perfection by Julie Metz,  The Physick Book of Deliverance Dane by Katherine Howe, The Lacemakers of Glenmara by Heather Barbieri, and Dismantled by Jennifer McMahon. Another bonus: author interviews are available on Book Club Girl on Air.

About the Author:

Mary Ellen Quinn is the author of the Historical Dictionary of Librarianship (2014), the former editor of Reference Books Bulletin, and a long-time contributing writer to Booklist.
