Lazy Awards Round-Up Post

Here’s a quick ‘n dirty look at who won/was nominated for what in the last week:

Brunonia Barry (The Lace Reader, 2008) won the 2009 Baccante literary prize. She will be recognized at a ceremony on September 26th in Matera, Italy.

Author/illustrator Gail Gibbons (Tornadoes, 2009) will receive the prestigious Regina Medal on April 7, 2010 for her significant contribution to the field of children’s literature.uf-friedman

Finalists for the 2009 Dayton Literary Peace Prize include Say You’re One of Them (2008) for fiction and Hot, Flat, and Crowded: Why We Need a Green Revolution–and How It Can Renew America (2008) in the non-fiction category. A complete list of contenders can be found here.

Lastly, the Midwest Booksellers Association announced the winners of their 2009 Booksellers’ Choice Awards. Neil Gaiman has another head to mount on his wall; The Graveyard Book won in the Children’s Lit category. A complete list of winners and honor recipients can be found here.
