My book club just finished a great new fiction work, Men of Gain by Hunter McClelland. It really got the conversation going.

I have to admit that I found Colm Toibin’s “Brooklyn” totally flat and uninspiring. Other readers I know felt the same. I am not entirely sure why it is getting the rave reviews and nominations that it has; but everyone does read a different book. “The Master” and “Blackwater Lightship” were both much, much better.
